The Mail Message page allows you to enter or view information for a new, draft, or received mail message, discrepancy notice, or message response.
Different action buttons (Route, Delete, and so on) and display fields appear on the page depending on the message's status, whether the message is in edit mode or read-only mode, and whether the message is an incoming message or an outgoing message. This page appears in read-only mode if you have view only security rights to messages and notifications.
The fields and controls contained in the Mail Message page are described below.

The ID of the instrument to which this message is in reference, displayed as a hyperlink. |
Presentation Amount |
The value of presentation amount with currency. |
Other Party |
The counter party to the transaction |
Presentation Number |
This represents the number of times the presentation occurred. |
Presentation Date |
The date when this instrument was presented to the bank. |
Related Documents |
Links to online images of documents related to the message or notification, if applicable. To view a document image, click on a document link to display the Document View page. After reviewing the document(s), you can then return to the Message page. This field displays for discrepancy notices from your bank and discrepancy responses to your bank. |
Subject |
The subject of the message. For new outgoing messages you create or edit, specify the message subject by entering a descriptive subject in the text area. This field can contain up to 25 characters. For incoming messages from your bank, this field displays the type of message, the instrument ID and sequence number, and the instrument type (for example, Discrepancy Notice: DLC080002ABC-1 Import LC or Free Format: DLC080002ABC-1 Import LC). |
Message |
The text of the message. For new outgoing messages you create or edit, specify the message text by entering the text into the extended text area. This field can contain up to 4000 characters. For discrepancy notices from your bank, this field displays text explaining the nature of the discrepancy along with instructions for replying to the notice. |
Discrepancy(ies) |
Displays the discrepancy(ies) for selected instrument. |
PO/ Invoice Discrepancy(ies) |
Displays the discrepancy(ies) for PO/Invoice for selected instrument. |
Discrepancy Response Status |
Displays the response status for selected instrument. |
Beneficiary |
This field represents the beneficiary to the transaction. This field will preload based on the discrepancy notice from the bank. this field displays in read only. |
Our Reference |
This field represents a reference number the user can enter to be able to reference the settlement instructions. |
Apply Payment On: |
this field represents the date the payment should be applied on. |
Generate Payment |
Selecting this radio button will cause a payment to be generated for the settlement of the discrepancy. |
Other |
Checking this box enables the user to enter additional text in the below 'Additional Instructions' field. |
Additional Instructions |
Additional text for settlement instructions. To enter text, type directly in to the text area or add a phrase from the drop down list. |
Route |
Selecting this button enables the user to route the message to a different party. |
Reply to Bank |
Selecting this button opens the discrepancy response page enabling the user to send a reply to the bank. This button only appears when the Discrepancy Response Status on the Discrepancy Notice is Not Yet Started. |
Delete |
Deletes the selected message. |
